About Sanctuary of Truth

Located on the beach in Pattaya, Thailand, the Temple of Truth is not so much a temple as it is a work of religious art, for it is a structure built entirely of wood and stands with Buddhist and Hindu sculptures that are so lifelike as to be breathtaking.

Because of its location by the sea, the Temple of Truth looks like a sailboat moored on the shore from afar, but is even more beautiful and spectacular than the sailboat. The Temple of Truth is a special building that blends religious culture and art, and was funded by a wealthy Thai businessman, Lek Viriyaphant. Construction began in 1981, and although Viriyaphant passed away, construction has continued and is expected to be completed by 2025. The temple is 100 meters high, 100 meters long, covering an area of 2,115 square meters, because the entire building is made of wood, with the passage of time will be destroyed by the years, some of the old buildings need to be constantly repaired, and new buildings need to be completed, and therefore want to complete the temple of truth, is absolutely a huge project, and therefore some people say that this is a building that can never be completed.

The whole temple is built of teak wood, without a nail, all with wedges, set tongue and pins and other ways to combine the construction. The temple has exquisite and intricate wood carvings in all corners of the temple, and the exquisite wood carving techniques of Thailand are manifested to the fullest, with each of the gods coming to life in front of the visitors.
