About

To get to Pattaya from Bangkok, you can take one of the following three modes of transportation

Bus
Cab
Rotu (minibus)

However, the Rotu (minibus) is not a comfortable ride and is not particularly inexpensive (bus fare is 119 baht, Rotu is 100 baht).

In addition, the ticket office of the Rotu is very crowded with local Thais, making it quite stressful to use.

(Lotu boarding area in Bangkok for Pattaya. It is very crowded and not even air-conditioned)

Therefore, it is not necessary to make the use of a lotto an option when going to Pattaya.

Therefore, this article will focus on buses and cabs.

The ownership time from Bangkok to Pattaya is about 2 hours and 30 minutes for both bus and cab.

When going to Pattaya, even if you want to go to Pattaya directly from Japan, you need to land at Bangkok airport (Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang) first.

Therefore, even if you are only staying in Pattaya, you will have to go from Japan to Bangkok to Pattaya. When you return to your home country, the reverse is true.

How to get to Pattaya from Bangkok city (Ekamai bus terminal, cab)

The best way to get to Pattaya from Bangkok city is by bus departing from Ekamai bus terminal. It is the same ride as a travel bus, but cheaper (119 Baht).

Ekamai Bus Terminal is conveniently located right in front of BTS.

Many cabs and Song Taew buses stop at the bus arrival point in Pattaya. It is easy to get to the hotel from the arrival point.

If you are on a budget, you may want to take a cab as described below.

How to get to Pattaya from Ekamai Bus Terminal (also known as East Bus Terminal / Thai: สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารเอกมัย)

Bus stop from Bangkok city center to Pattaya is right in front of BTS Ekkamai.。

Get off at Exit 2 of Ekamai station, make a U-turn, and after about 10 meters you will see the bus terminal.

There is a ticket counter marked “PATTAYA” inside the bus terminal (at the right end of the terminal, counter 28) Purchase tickets at counter 28.

Be careful of other bus companies

There are several bus companies that operate at the Ekamai bus terminal in addition to bus stop No. 28.

However, other bus companies have a bad reputation because they arrive at inconvenient places even if they say they go to Pattaya, and when you get on the bus, it is a lotto (minibus).

(Be careful, as soon as you enter the Ekamai bus terminal, the bus company staff will call out “Pattaya, come here.)

Be sure to buy your bus ticket to Pattaya at window 28.

Buses to Pattaya stop at bus stop No. 1 at the bus terminal.

However, depending on the time of day or day, the bus may not stop at the No. 1 bus stop, so it is better to show your ticket to the staff near the bus and ask, “Pattaya? after showing your ticket to the staff near the bus.

There is a store in the bus terminal, so it is recommended to buy a drink before boarding the bus.

On the way to Pattaya, the bus will not stop anywhere for rest or other stops.

However, there are restrooms on the bus.

Once on board and seated, simply wait for the bus to depart. Keep your ticket until you arrive in Pattaya to avoid losing it.
