The above two methods are the most common.

However, cabs are expensive.

Therefore, it is a mode of transportation suitable for those who have little luggage (or worse, those who can spend about 2 hours and 40 minutes with their luggage on their lap).

Also, the ride is not as comfortable as a medium or large bus.

Although they look big, it is best to think of the ride as similar to a minibus (rotto).

In this article, we will introduce the microbuses that go directly from Pattaya to Don Mueang Airport.

PowerBuyPattaya, an electronics store, is also located along Pattayakan Avenue, although it is somewhat secluded on the map.

There is a possibility that the flight may depart earlier.

You want to go to the bus stop with the intention of getting on 5 hours before boarding time to allow plenty of time.

The author’s boarding time was 23:55, so he went to the microbus station at 18:00.

By the way, there are some restaurants around the microbus station, although not many.

Even if you have extra time before boarding, you may be able to kill some time.

Restrooms are located in the office of the microbus station, but they are squat-type flush toilets.

If you want to use a clean restroom, ask for one at Power Buy Pattaya next door.

Fare is 180 baht. Seat assignments are not available.

Unlike medium and larger buses, there are no seat assignments.

As with the minibus (rotto), the early bird gets the seat.

As noted below, some seats have limited legroom, so you want to get a good seat early.

The ride is a little better than a minibus (rotto)

The ceilings are higher than those of the minibus (lotto), giving it a more open feel.

However, as mentioned above, there is no trunk room and no screen shelf.

Incidentally, there are no toilets on board.

When the author boarded the train, there were about five passengers in total, so luggage was placed in the aisle and on the empty seat next to it.

However, if this had been a full flight, there would have been no space for luggage.

So, as I mentioned at the beginning of this article, in the worst case, you will have to hold your luggage on your lap.

For these reasons, there were no foreign passengers who might have been tourists.

The seats were a little roomier than in the rotto.

If you cross your legs, your legs will stick out into the aisle.

Also, the backrest cannot be folded down.

In addition, like the rotto, some seats are narrower than others.

When I boarded the bus, there were no other passengers, so the ride was not so uncomfortable.

However, if it were a full bus, it would be a little more comfortable than a rotto.

The only advantage of taking a microbus is that it goes directly to Don Mueang Airport.

Microbus Arrival Location

The microbus departed Pattaya at 19:40 and arrived at Don Mueang Airport at 22:20, with a 10-minute restroom break along the way.

As with the rotto, the driver drives quite fast.

Perhaps because of this, we arrived earlier than expected, despite the break.

The microbus arrived in front of Don Mueang Railway Station.

The driver tells us that we have arrived at Don Mueang.

From Don Mueang Railway Station to Don Mueang Airport, you only need to cross the connecting passageway.

You can almost consider that you will arrive right in front of Don Mueang Airport.

Tips

The only advantage of the microbus is that it goes directly to Don Mueang Airport.

This time, the author happened to have no other passengers, so he had plenty of space, but if the bus had been full, it would have been absolutely tight.

Since there is no trunk room in the first place, I would say that this is not a suitable vehicle for travelers.

If the ride time is just over one hour like the Bangkok to Ayutthaya Lottee, it is still bearable, but the ride from Pattaya to Don Muang takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes.

If the bus had been fully booked, it would have been mentally and physically difficult to endure 2 hours and 40 minutes.

So, in conclusion, to get to Don Mueang Airport from Pattaya, I still recommend taking a cab or a shuttle bus via Suvarnabhumi.
