About  Muang Boran Ancient City

Located 30 kilometers from Bangkok in the province of Pattani, Muang Borong Monument City is a theme park that concentrates miniature views of Thailand’s domestic attractions and is the world’s largest open-air museum.

The park is shaped like the topography of Thailand and contains 75 replicas of the most famous temples, pagodas, monuments and other buildings from all over Thailand, as well as a small marketplace of tall wooden houses built on a lake.

These replicas are each in their original “geographic location” and some are even lost Thai monuments that have been carefully recreated in their original historical form through the efforts of archaeologists and artists. In addition, the park has traditional Thai residential buildings and village landscapes of the high mountain people, as well as a park of sculptures built on the theme of Ramocheon’s stories.

There are also several rural and market vignettes in the old town, where girls in ethnic costumes weave cloth, make umbrellas and make small handicrafts in farmhouses, and men engage in activities such as farm work and coconut picking in the fields, showing the life style of Thai villages and towns.

How to get there

Bangkok bus No. 25 and air-conditioned buses No. 507, 508 and 511 (16 baht) take about 2 hours to get to Beilang, and then you can transfer to No. 36 “minivan” (6 baht) to reach the park.
