About Bamboo Island
Bamboo Island, also known as KoPhae, is named after the bamboo that is found on the island. Bamboo Island is a small island on a group of small islands in the Gulf of Thailand, about 10 kilometers from Sihanoukville.
In the past, Bamboo Island was only a naval post, but in recent years, along with the growing tourism industry in Sihanoukville, tourism on Bamboo Island has also developed like never before and is attracting tourists from all over the world to visit the island; the east and north of the island are beautiful beaches with clear water and white sand, ideal for sunbathing, while the south is a magnificent coral reef with many corals in the nearby waters, making it the best swimming and diving spot in Phi Phi. Phi Phi Island is one of the best swimming and diving spots.
Also, Bamboo Island is close to Mosquito Island, so visitors can also visit Mosquito Island on the way.
How to get there
Public transportation: Located north of Big Phi Phi Island, near Mosquito Island, usually combined with Mosquito Island, rent a boat for about 900 THB per three hours. Other transportation: You can choose to take a speedboat from Phuket (included in the day tour itinerary), or you can join a half-day or day tour by speedboat from Big Phi Phi Island, or charter a long-tail boat to choose the sights according to your personal preference.
