About Chiang Mai Zoo
Chiang Mai Zoo, known as the largest zoo in Thailand, was built to follow the mountainous terrain, about one kilometer from Chiang Mai University. It is located on the south side of Huai Kaeo Road.
I got to see pandas, koalas, and a few other animals up close and personal, and it was a lot of fun! I highly recommend the Chiang Mai Zoo!!!
How to get there
There are three main ways to get to Chiang Mai Zoo from the Old City.
Songteu
Tuk Tuk
Car Charter
If you want to go cheaply anyway, I think Song Taew is the way to go, but we asked our hotel to arrange a car for us.
After the zoo, we were planning to visit Doi Suthep Temple and many other places in the same direction, so it was a hassle to take a songtaew and then another one.
The hotel arranged it for us and it cost 2,000 baht.
